Each week the Cheetah Keeper’s sister comes home with 2 bits of homework – something that involves writing/drawing/researching/calculating and then taking back to school and her ‘talking’ homework. The first she approaches with great enthusiasm and a large quantity of felt tip pens. It’s often illegible but she is keen to do it by herself and takes huge pride in handing it in on a Monday morning. ‘Talking’ homework is harder – often the subject is hard to bring up in ‘normal’ conversation but last week they were talking about New Years Resolutions and she had to talk about them with us.
As previously mentioned, I have not made resolutions this year but am becoming more and more devoted to the finding something beautiful in every day concept. So we talked about this – and she’s loving it. We’ve looked at how the sun shines, red berries that we’ve walked past everyday but she’s never noticed, the fact the daisies are poking through the mud now – we pruned the garden together and found the flowers and berries that are growing and how gorgeous the skeletons of the summer flowers look.
I’m going to be running the #yourebeautiful linky every Wednesday now – for you to link up pictures or posts about something that’s beautiful. A beautiful poem, something that your child has drawn or said, a photo of something that you think is beautiful (an iced cake, a pebble on the beach, your new boots) – whatever has made you think ‘awwwww’ or ‘wow’ or ‘that’s gorgeous’ or ‘how on earth does nature do that?’
My contribution for this week is this little gallery of pictures – taken this very morning:
So what have you seen, done, heard or written about that’s beautiful – in whatever way? Please link it up so we can all discover what it is that you love and let us know you’ve done it on Twitter using #yourebeautiful . The linking works for twitter pictures too so if you’d like to send me a picture to @cheetahsinshoes I’d be happy to do the linky for you.
